Many Brides and Grooms find it unappealing to spend time packaging up little favors or may not even like the idea of giving something someone may or may not take. A new trend in favors is making a charitable donation. Instead of having a box on the place setting a tag with wording such as "In Lieu of favors we have made a donation to ...." is placed on the table as a large card or as an individual tag at each setting.
This also is an eco friendly favor as it eliminates the actual product (which may be thrown out) as well as the actual wrapping! This is a fabulous way to give back to the community, and a charity of your choice. Some charities will event provide you with thank you tags.
At a recent wedding a couple had donate money to the Edmonton SPCA and each of their tables were named after one of the animals at the SPCA, and had a photo of the animal. It was a very cute and chic way to demonstrate their passion for helping the animals at the SPCA.
